What is Spiritual Direction/Companionship?
Spiritual Directors International (sdicompanions.org) helps us understand spiritual companionship as “conversations about life in the light of faith.” It is an opportunity to connect more deeply and intentionally with one’s core/source/inner life, as well as what is infinite and eternal in both time and space. This exploration/spiritual practice takes place in the company of another who holds a non-judgemental, confidential space in which one’s spiritual story can be acknowledged and encouraged as a source of wisdom, nourishment, and support.

Perhaps you are:

Seeking a more intentional connection to the Divine, however, you are experiencing it in your life
Looking for a dedicated time in which you can explore your faith in the light of the daily workings of your life with its myriad permutations, joys, and challenges.
A clergy person, educator, or other Jewish professional who wishes to engage in Spiritual Companionship so that you may be more spiritually open/aware for yourself and for your family, students, and community.

Who am I?
I am an ordained Cantor and Spiritual Director who uses sacred listening and a variety of resources and spiritual practices to help you connect non-judgmentally to your own inner/spiritual journey. I have been in the field of faith for almost 40 years. I have extensive experience as a prayer leader, musical artist, storyteller, pastoral counselor, and educator in a number of Jewish settings.

I was introduced to mindfulness and other forms of contemplative spiritual practice through the Institute for Jewish Spirituality (jewishspirituality.org) many years ago. More recently, I participated in a two-year course of study in order to become a Spiritual Director, and have been in practice for 5 years.

How does this work?

Contact me for a preliminary/complimentary conversation and a bit of spiritual direction practice. You may then decide if this is a comfortable match for you. If I am not the right director for you, I am happy to recommend colleagues.
We meet for 45-60 minutes online, usually on a monthly basis.
